Consultation on Woodland Management Plan for OPT woodlands on Boars Hill
Oxford Preservation Trust are pleased to share information on a woodland management plan for their woodlands on Boars Hill.
OPT manages a collection of woodlands across Boars Hill, covering just over 12 hectares. The current management regime comprises regular Duty of Care surveys and remedial works where needed, with particular attention to trees near paths, roads and buildings.
With the support of the OPT Green Spaces Advisory Committee, which includes Nigel Fisher (Conservator of Wytham Woods) we are working on managing our woodlands more effectively.
We’ve appointed an independent consultant, Huw Lloyd of HJL Consultancy, to produce the woodland management plan which will enable us to ensure our woodlands flourish for the long term, enhancing conservation value, preserving landscape character and maintaining public access.
We invite you to read through the information and give us your feedback via the form below by Friday 20th March. We will then review the responses and finalise the plan to submit to the Forestry Commission for approval.
