The original was given as a wedding present to former Boars Hill residents Sir Henry and Lady Rosamond Lawrence and kindly donated by their grandson, Mike Lawrence, via the Boars Hill Association, to Sunningwell Parish Council. It now hangs in Sunningwell Village Hall opposite St. Leonard’s Church.

Note Wittenham Clumps on the horizon slightly left of centre which featured, in exaggerated manner, as the inspiration for several Boars Hill paintings by surrealist Paul Nash who often visited his friend Hilda Harrison who lived on the Hill.
